Microblading, the revolutionary cosmetic procedure for perfect eyebrows, involves the artful application of semi-permanent pigment to mimic natural brow hairs. Understanding the healing process is crucial for achieving stunning, long-lasting results.
Microblading: No Downtime
The best news about the healing process is that it requires no downtime. Whether you’ve had microblading, machine nano brows, or ombre powder brows, your aftercare is the same! You can go right back to your typical daily routine, with just a couple things to avoid, some simple aftercare procedures, unless you are an Olympic swimmer…in that case you won’t be able to swim for a few weeks.

Immediate Post-Microblading Procedure:
Right after microblading, expect your brows to appear darker and more defined. This is normal and part of the initial healing process. Some redness and swelling may occur around the treated area. Some people freak out a little bit by the darkness, we call it brow shock. The best news is that it will lighten, we promise. Through the phases of healing, all we ask is that you are gentle with your brows, giving them the chance to heal beautifully, naturally. Follow our complete aftercare here.
First Week After Microblading:
In the first week, your brows will gradually fade as the top layer of skin naturally sheds. The strokes may appear slightly scaly or crusty as healing begins. It’s vital to resist picking or scratching to avoid interfering with the final outcome.
2-4 Weeks After Microblading:
During this time, the healing progresses, and your brows will continue to lighten. We refer to this as the ‘ghosting stage‘. Some individuals may experience mild itching or flakiness as the skin heals. It’s crucial to refrain from scratching or peeling the skin.
Long-Term Microblading Maintenance:
After the initial healing and any required touch-ups, microblading results can last 2-5 years, depending on various factors. To maintain the desired look, periodic touch-up sessions are recommended.

Aftercare Tips for Microblading Healing:
To ensure optimal healing and results, follow these essential aftercare tips:
- Keep it Clean: Keep the treated area clean and avoid excessive moisture for the first week.
- Sun Protection: Shield your brows from direct sun exposure and avoid tanning beds to prevent premature fading.
- Avoid Water Soaking: Refrain from soaking your brows in water, such as in swimming pools or hot tubs, during the initial healing period.
- Be Skincare Savvy: Avoid skincare products containing acids, retinoids, or exfoliants on or near the treated area.
It’s crucial to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your microblading technician to ensure the best possible results. Any concerns or unusual reactions during the healing process should be discussed with your technician.
