The Secret to That Effortless, Sun-Kissed Glow (Without the Sunburn!)
Watercolor faux freckles? Well, you know those people who just naturally have the cutest little sprinkle of freckles across their nose and cheeks? The kind that looks like they just got back from a weekend in the sun, without trying? I’m here to tell you… you can have that too. No beach trip (or UV damage) required.
I am Chloe Wight co-owner of DAELA Scottsdale, I specialize in Faux Freckles—and mine have a watercolor feel, a softer, more realistic twist on traditional freckle tattoos that brings a playful, sun-kissed look to your skin in the most natural way possible.

What Are Faux Freckles?
Unlike some freckle tattoos that can look too bold, too dark, or too perfectly placed, my Watercolor Faux Freckle technique uses soft layering and varied tones to create a subtle, barely-there flush of freckles that look like they’ve always been there. They’re gently tattooed using cosmetic pigments, and I space them out and cluster them in a way that mimics how freckles naturally show up on sun-loved skin.
Think: light, diffused, and dreamy, like watercolor on skin.

Why Do People Love Faux Freckles?
Let me count the ways…
-
They add instant charm. Freckles have this youthful, carefree vibe that makes your face feel more alive—even without makeup.
-
They enhance your natural features. Faux freckles draw attention to your cheekbones, nose, and eyes in the most subtle way.
-
They’re trendy and timeless. From editorial beauty to TikTok filters, freckles are having a major moment, and they’re here to stay.
-
No sun damage required. Get the glow without compromising your skin.
-
They’re just plain fun. Honestly, who doesn’t want to add a little sparkle to their face?

What to Expect at Your Appointment
At your appointment, we’ll chat about the look you’re going for—whether you want a full sprinkle across the cheeks and nose, or just a few “beauty mark” style freckles here and there. I’ll custom mix tones that work with your skin and blend them seamlessly using my Watercolor Freckle technique.
The whole process takes a couple hours or less, and most freckles heal within 5–7 days. The best part? They fade gracefully over time (typically 6–12 months), so they’re low-commitment but high reward.
Aftercare for faux freckles is simple but essential to ensure a beautiful, natural looking heal. For the first 7–10 days, keep the area clean and dry and avoid heavy sweating, direct sun exposure, makeup, and skincare products on the freckled area. Gently cleanse with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser and pat dry. Apply a thin layer of the recommended aftercare ointment if advised by your artist and resist the urge to pick or scratch as the freckles soften and settle into the skin. Once healed, always protect your faux freckles with SPF to maintain their soft, sun-kissed appearance.

Freckles, But Make Them You
Faux Freckles aren’t about perfection, they’re about personality. Whether you’re embracing your inner sun goddess, adding character to your complexion, or just in the mood for something fun and fresh, I’m here for it.
Let’s bring those freckles to life.
