Microblading: The Ultimate Scottsdale Guide

“Microblading is a manual cosmetic tattoo technique designed to create delicate, hair-like strokes that enhance the natural shape, fullness, and balance of the brows.”

Permanent Makeup Removal in Scottsdale, AZ

At DAELA Scottsdale, microblading is approached with intention, artistry, and deep respect for skin health and facial harmony. The goal is never trend-driven brows, but beautiful, realistic results that feel timeless, wearable, and truly personal.

Microblading is where cosmetic tattooing began. It is the original brow technique, the foundation of the industry, and it still absolutely holds its place. While newer methods like machine nano brows and ombre powder brows have expanded what is possible for a wider range of skin types, microblading continues to deliver stunning, predictable, and refined results when performed by highly skilled artists.

At DAELA Scottsdale, this brow tattoo technique is offered thoughtfully and intentionally. We believe in choosing the right technique for the right skin, creating brows that feel natural today and continue to make sense years from now.

What Is Microblading?

Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing performed using a handheld tool with ultra-fine needles. These needles create precise, hair-like strokes that deposit pigment into the upper layers of the skin, closely mimicking the look and direction of natural brow hair.

FYI: Microblading is Nanoblading. Same exact technique, just micro sized needles vs nano sized needles!

Unlike machine-based techniques, brow tattoo technique relies entirely on the artist’s hand skill, pressure, and control. Each stroke is placed individually, allowing for highly customized results that follow the client’s natural brow pattern and facial structure.

At DAELA Scottsdale, all brow tattoo techniques are customized for the individual client. Stroke placement, spacing, depth, and pigment selection are carefully chosen to support long-term wear and beautiful healed results.

What We Love About Microblading

Microblading at DAELA Scottsdale

This brow tattoo technique is what started it all. It is the OG technique that still rocks. owners Chloe & Haley Wight perfected microblading as the first cosmetic tattoo style they offered. They continue to provide microblading along with all brow techniques.

While techniques like machine nano brows and ombre powder brows were developed to better serve clients with oily, thin, or more complex skin types, microblading remains unmatched for the right candidate. When applied with care, precision, and experience, it produces some of the most natural and predictable healed results possible.

We love this brow tattoo technique for its artistry. Every stroke is placed by hand. Every detail matters. There is something incredibly special about creating brows hair by hair, with full control over direction, spacing, and flow.

In the hands of master artists, microblading yields brows that look soft, realistic, and beautifully balanced. It has proven longevity, fades evenly, and continues to stand the test of time when matched properly to the skin.

This brow tattoo technique is not outdated. It is foundational. And when done well, it remains one of the most elegant ways to enhance the brows.

Is Microblading Right for Your Skin Type?

Microblading works best on certain skin types. Clients with normal to dry skin often experience the most crisp, long-lasting, and predictable results. These skin types tend to hold fine strokes beautifully as they heal.

Clients with oily, very thin, or highly reactive skin may heal differently. In these cases, strokes can soften more quickly, making other brow techniques a better long-term option.

At DAELA Scottsdale, your consultation is an honest conversation. Your artist will assess your skin, lifestyle, and brow goals to help determine whether which brow tattoo technique is best for you.

Choosing the correct technique is one of the most important factors in achieving brows you will love long term. And no worries, if you get in the chair for this brow tattoo and your skin isn’t a fit, we can easily pivot to one of the other fabulous cosmetic brow tattoo techniques!

Microblading Results and Healing Expectations

Microblading at DAELA Scottsdale

Immediately after treatment, microbladed strokes will appear darker and more defined than the final healed result. This is completely normal.

As the skin heals, the pigment softens and blends into a natural tone. Over the following weeks, the brows continue to refine, with strokes settling into the skin and blending seamlessly with natural hair.

Healed results typically include

• Fine, hair-like strokes that mimic natural brows

• Improved shape and balance

• Subtle fullness without a makeup look

Final results are best evaluated after the full healing period and any recommended touch-up appointment.

The Microblading Process at Our Scottsdale Studio

Your appointment begins with a detailed consultation. This is where your artist learns about your brow goals, daily routine, and long-term expectations.

Next comes brow mapping and design. Shape, arch placement, and stroke direction are carefully planned and adjusted until everything feels aligned. You will review and approve the design before treatment begins.

The process includes

• In-depth consultation and brow analysis

• Custom brow mapping and pre-draw approval

• Pigment selection based on skin tone and hair color

• Manual microblading application

• Detailed aftercare guidance

Comfort, communication, and precision are prioritized throughout your visit.

5-Stars on Google!

“Getting microblading done at Daela is by far the best decision I made in a while. Chloe is amazing, I’m in love with my new brows from day one. The whole process with Chloe was wonderful, she took time to find the perfect brow shape for me. I wanted very natural looking brows, Chloe did exactly that. Now my brows are fuller with more refined shape but still very natural. I now go make up free most of the time with just my pretty brows.” Yi Schneider

About “Nano Brows,” “Nano Blading,” and Why the Internet Makes This Complicated

Microblading at DAELA Scottsdale

If you have gone down the rabbit hole of researching brow tattoos, you have probably noticed that the terms nano brows and nano blading are used interchangeably and sometimes incorrectly. You are not missing anything. The terminology itself is inconsistent.

Here is what actually matters.

Both microblading and machine nano brows are created using extremely fine needles, commonly referred to as nano needles. The word “nano” simply describes the size and precision of the needle used to create hair-like strokes. It does not automatically indicate which technique is being used.

The real difference comes down to the tool.

Microblading is performed using a manual, hand-held tool without a machine. Machine nano brows are created using a tattoo machine that implants pigment with controlled movement and depth.

The finished look between the two techniques can appear very similar. What changes is how the pigment is placed in the skin and how it is likely to heal over time.

Because of this overlap, you may see “nano blading” used to describe both microblading and machine nano brows, depending on the studio or artist. It is not a separate service, and there is no universal definition across the industry.

At DAELA Scottsdale, the focus is not on labels or trends. Your artist will explain exactly which technique is being recommended, how it works, and why it is the best option for your skin and long-term brow goals. Clear communication is part of the service, not an afterthought.

Before and After Care for Microblading

Proper preparation and aftercare play a big role in how your brows heal and retain pigment. Following your artist’s guidance supports comfort and long-term results. Hydration during the 72-hours leading up to your appointment is critical.
